Online Dutch Auctions
November 7, 2008I last wrote about the success of the Bothell Countdown, a Dutch auction format real estate sale that resutled in a successful home sale for it’s organizer/seller.
Right on the heels of that post is the launch of a new online auction service that has adopted the Dutch auction method as it’s model. It’s called 4Sale4Now.com.
Basically, it’s like eBay, except instead of bidding an item up, the price regularly drops until someone bids…..and wins the item! As I said before, I like Dutch auctions and think this could be a boon to anyone with a unique real or personal property item.
Check it out.

A site that actually runs the dutch auction is Pricefalls.com. It was founded by a college student and seems extremely attractive to both buyers and sellers of all kinds. There are no listing fees and their final value fee is waaay cheaper than eBays. The 4sale4nowe model is great however I think the Pricefalls.com model is even better. I will be watching for the site to grow rapidly in the coming years.
