I was sent this video by a friend of mine and thought it was hilarious…….and sad at the same time. Satire is so powerful, yet effective.

If you’ve never been in an area of the country experiencing rampant growth, this pretty well demonstrates the way laborers have been secured for the large scale construction projects that have created the modern west over the last 30 years.

In Colorado, I always felt pity for the men who found work this way, but at least they’re willing to work. Having helped a friend with a construction project in Winter Park several years ago, I worked a couple days with some foreign laborers she found “down at the hardware store”.

I know most of these guys are just thankful to earn a fair paycheck for a hard day’s work. Of course, this is what makes immigration issues so contentious. These are real people, with real families, just trying to survive. Sadly, most of us are just trying to survive too…..and that’s what makes it difficult.

Anyway, I love the image of all these execs sitting in the back of a small pickup truck on their way to the job! Remember when you were a kid and you played “opposite day” where everything was flip-flopped? Wouldn’t it be great if we celebrated that as adults? In Israel they do, sort of….it’s called Purim.
