Before I get back to productive informational posts, I thought it would be fun to show a video clip I made on the Alpine Slide located at Heritage Square Amusement Park in Golden, Colorado.  We did this when we were out a couple weeks ago. قبل ان اعود الى وظائف منتجة والاعلاميه ، واعتقد أنه سيكون من الممتع أن تظهر كليب الاول على الشريحه الواقعة في جبال الالب التراث مربع الذهبي في حدائق ترفيهية ، كولورادو. فعلنا ذلك عندما كنا خارج بضعة اسابيع. Anyway, it’s kind of fun to watch and if you’ve never been on an Alpine Slide, they’re a blast! على أي حال ، إنها نوع من المرح على مراقبة واذا كنت قد ابدا على شريحة جبال الألب ، انهم أ الانفجار!

I’m headed out the door right now to head back to Colorado for my Grandma’s funeral. انا اتجهت الى الباب الآن للرئيس الحق في العودة الى كولورادو لجدتي جنازة. She was almost 90 years old and lived a healthy Colorado lifestyle until the last couple months. وقالت انها ما يقرب من 90 عاما ويعيش اسلوب حياة صحى كولورادو حتى الأشهر القليلة الماضية. We are thankful that we were able to see her last week before she went to be with the Lord. ونحن شاكرون ان تمكنا من ان نرى لها في الاسبوع الماضي قبل ذهابها الى ان نكون مع الرب.

She was a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother and we’ll miss her! وقالت انها راءعه وكبيرة الجدة الجدة وسنقوم نفتقدها!

As I write this post, every muscle in my body aches - every joint is sore. كما أني أكتب هذه الوظيفة ، كل عضلة في جسدي الاوجاع -- كل مشترك هو قرحة. What I hoped would be a quick, efficient and painless move has been the most exhausting experience I’ve been through in a long time. ما كنت تأمل في ان تكون سريعه وفعالة وغير مؤلم التحرك كان أكثر تجربة مضنيه انا كنت في خلال فترة طويلة. Not that moving isn’t supposed to wipe you out, but this move was special. الا ان الانتقال ليس من المفروض ان يزيل لكم ، الا ان هذه الخطوة الخاصة.

Looking back, here are a few things I’ve learned that I would do differently if I had the chance. اذا نظرنا الى الوراء ، وإليك بعض الامور التي تعلمت واود ان تفعل بشكل مختلف اذا سنحت لي فرصة. These are things that a good real estate agent ought to consider for their clients - especially if they haven’t moved in awhile themselves. وهذه هي الاشياء التي جيدا العقار نفسه ينبغي ان تنظر لعملائها -- لا سيما اذا لم تكن قد انتقلت في awhile انفسهم. After all, it’s only been 2 years since our last move, but oh how different the experience! على كل حال ، الا انه تم 2 سنوات منذ آخر التحرك ، ولكن كيف يا تجربة مختلفة!

Packing التعبءه

What we did right : The local grocery store gave us milk boxes by the dozens. ما فعلناه الحق : بقالة المحلية قدمت لنا الحليب من جانب صناديق العشرات. These were awesome boxes because they are reinforced, heavy-duty cardboard with handles. وكانت هذه الصناديق مرعبه لانها عززت ، الثقيلة تتعامل مع الكرتون. Plus, they didn’t smell the way other “grocery store” boxes can. بالاضافة الى ذلك ، انها لا رائحة طريقة اخرى "بقالة" يمكن للصناديق. Simply going around to grocery stores, or local industries that with boxes to discard can be a win-win for everyone. ببساطة حول الذهاب الى محلات البقاله ، أو أن الصناعات المحلية مع صناديق لنبذ يمكن ان تكون رابحة للجميع. As more companies go green, cardboard disposal is an issue for some smaller companies. كما ان المزيد من الشركات اذهب الاخضر ، والورق هو التخلص من مشكلة بالنسبة لبعض الشركات الاصغر. By helping them help your clients, everyone wins - especially you! من خلال مساعدتها مساعدة زبائنك ، وينس الجميع -- وخاصة انت!

Transporting نقل

What we did right: Mmmmmm? ما فعلناه الحق : mmmmmm؟ Not sure! غير متأكد!

Here’s what we did wrong: We made a local reservation with U-Haul. و هذا ما فعلناه خطأ : قدمنا مع التحفظ المحلية لمسافات يو. The reason this is a bad idea is because U-Haul doesn’t actually guarantee any round-trip reservation. والسبب في ذلك هو فكرة سيئة لأن يو مسافات فعلا لا تتحمل اي تحفظ ذهابا وايابا. If they get a one-way reservation for the same truck, you could be screwed. اذا حصلوا على طريق ذو اتجاه واحد حجز لنفسه في شاحنة ، يمكنك ان screwed. We had a two-day local reservation for a 26 foot truck, but when I picked up the truck last Wednesday, I was told that it would have to be returned by 9am the next day because a one-way reservation had come in. The last time we moved, we used PODS , which is by far the absolute easiest way to move IMHO. المرة الاخيرة التي تحركنا ، ونحن استخدام السنفات ، التي هي حتى الان المطلق وأسهل طريقة للتحرك imho. If your church doesn’t have a moving ministry, talk to your pastor about starting one. اذا كانت الكنيسة ليس لديها تتحرك وزارة ، راعي الكنيسة الى حسابك في الحديث حول البدء. It can be a great outreach into the community, not to mention a great service! ويمكن ان تكون كبيرة للتوعية في المجتمع ، ناهيك عن خدمة كبيرة!

Children أطفال

What we did right : Overall, our kiddos did great without a lot of direction from us!The biggest help was having my wife’s folks watch them for the night when we had to get the truck unloaded. ما فعلناه الحق : وعموما ، نحن لم kiddos كبيرة دون الكثير من الاتجاه منا! اكبر مساعدة بعد ان كان اهل زوجتي مشاهدة لهم ليلة عندما كانت لدينا للحصول على شاحنة افرغت.

What we did wrong : We should have packed for them like we were going on a camping trip, with the appropriate food, refreshments, games and books. ما فعلناه خطأ : ينبغي ان يكون لدينا مثل تعبأ لها ونحن في طريقها على المخيمات وايابا ، مع الغذاءيه المناسبه ، والمرطبات والألعاب والكتب. Instead, we packed all their stuff and we’ve had to stop to find things that could have been available if we’d planned differently. بدلا من ذلك ، فاننا معباه بكل الأشياء واننا تلقينا طلبات لوقف العثور على الاشياء التي يمكن ان تكون متاحة اذا كنا المخطط مختلفة.

Utilities المرافق

What we did right : We did schedule the switch-over in advance. ما فعلناه الحق في : الجدول الزمني لفعلنا اكثر من التحول مسبقا. I even overlapped slightly just to be sure. بل انني تتداخل قليلا فقط مما لا شك فيه. We didn’t really fail in this regard, however….. حقا اننا لم نفشل في هذا الصدد ، ومع ذلك…..

What we did wrong: Cox Cable didn’t show up when they were scheduled to install our TV, Telephone and Internet connection. ما فعلناه خطأ : الكابل كوكس لم تعرض عندما كان من المقرر أن تثبيت لدينا التلفزيون والهاتف والاتصال بشبكه الانترنت. They were to arrive between 10-12 last Thursday. كانت للتوصل الى بين 10-12 الخميس الماضي. At 3pm, I called them to find out what was up and was told that they came and nobody was home. في 3pm ، ودعوت لهم للوقوف على ما كان حتى وقيل له إنهم قد قدموا واحدا هو الوطن. This was a complete untruth as someone was home that entire time. وكانت هذه الكذبه كاملة كما ان احدهم كان المنزل طوال الوقت. When I was told that they wouldn’t be able to send someone back out until Wednesday (Today) I about blew my gasket! عندما قيل لي انها لن تكون قادرة على ارسال شخص الى الوراء حتى يوم الاربعاء (اليوم) انا طوقا حول فجر بلادي! Thankfully, I whined and complained so much (and threatened to cancel my order entirely) that they bumped it up to Monday. حسن الحظ ، مانون الاول ، واشتكى من ذلك بكثير (وهددت بالغاء امري تماما) انه صدم لانه حتى يوم الاثنين. The lesson learned here is that there are going to be issues that come up when you move that you can’t control and getting all worked up about those will just put you through unnecessary stress. والدرس المستفاد هنا هو أن هناك تتجه الى القضايا التي تأتي حتى عند تحريك انه لا يمكنك الحصول على مراقبة ومتابعة عمل حول جميع تلك سوف تسبب لك فقط من خلال التأكيد على لزوم لها. Once I accepted the fact that I was going to be offline for awhile, things were okay. وبمجرد ان قبلت الحقيقة انني ذاهب الى ان تكون غير متصل للawhile ، كانت الأمور حسنا.

Realtor Application - Provide your clients with a To Do checklist that they can go over prior to moving to make sure they haven’t forgotten to take care of any important details. السمسار تطبيق -- تقديم عملاءك مع قائمة مرجعيه لانها لا يمكن ان تتجاوز قبل الانتقال للتأكد من انها لم ننس لرعايه اي من التفاصيل المهمة. And……remember moving is stressful. وتذكر…… التحرك هو المجهده. Anything you can do to show empathy or assistance will be worth far more than buying more pens with your logo on them. اي شيء يمكنك القيام به لاظهار التعاطف او تقديم المساعدة تكون قيمة أكثر بكثير من شراء أكثر الأقلام مع شعارك عليها.

Documents الوثائق

What we did right: We sold our home FSBO in 4 days. ما فعلناه الحق : بعنا بيتنا fsbo في 4 أيام. I see this more as a case of offering a desirable property at an attractive price, and God’s blessing, than any formulaic method another could replicate. وأرى ان هذا اكثر بوصفها حالة من تقدم مرغوب الممتلكات بسعر مغر ، وعلى بركة الله ، صيغ أكثر من أي طريقة اخرى يمكن محاكاته. It happened so fast that we weren’t totally prepared to move. حدث ذلك بسرعة ان لم نكن على استعداد للتحرك تماما. The closing was handled by a local title company that did a fair job, other than waiting until the last minute to mail out some of the final docs. اغلاق عولجت من قبل الشركات المحلية التي لم عنوان عادلة وظيفة أخرى غير الانتظار حتى اللحظة الاخيرة على البريد بعض المستندات النهائية. This combined with a policy change at DHL that limits their service in Kansas, created some tension at the last minute, but otherwise everything went smoothly. هذا بالاضافة الى اجراء تغيير في السياسة في مكتبة داغ همرشولد الذي يحد من اداء الخدمة فى كانساس ، تسبب بعض التوتر في آخر لحظة ، ولكن على خلاف كل شيء بسلاسه.

What we did wrong : We used DHL as an overnight shipper not knowing that their overnight service service to central Kansas was going to take a week since they now contract with the USPS out of Kansas City to deliver their packages. ما فعلناه خطأ : كنا مكتبة داغ همرشولد ليلة وضحاها كما الشاحن ولا تدري ان داءره الخدمة بين عشية وضحاها الى وسط كانساس كانت متجهه الى اتخاذ كل اسبوع لأنها الأن فى العقد المبرم مع خدمة البريد الأميركية من مدينة كانساس سيتي الاحزمه لتوصيل. Had we used FEDEX or USPS from the get-go, it wouldn’t have been an issue. وكنا قد FedEx او الحصول على خدمة البريد الاميركية من الاستمرار بالعمل ، وإلا لما كانت هذه المساله.

Final Points نقاط أخيرة

We tried to declutter ahead of time and held a garage sale. حاولنا ان declutter في وقت سابق والذى عقد بيع محطة بنزين. But, we should have got rid of, sold, given away, thrown away more stuff that we wouldn’t have had to move. ولكن ، ينبغي ان يكون لدينا حصلت على التخلص من بيعه ، نظرا بعيدا ، بعيدا القاء المزيد من الاشياء التي لم نكن قد التحرك. I wonder how much it actually costs to keep junk instead of getting rid of it. انني اتساءل فعلا عن مدى تكاليف الابقاء على زباله بدلا من التخلص منه. Lastly, I should have bought my wife a new pair of work gloves, BEFORE we started moving. واخيرا ، اود ان زوجتي قد اشترت جديد زوج من القفازات العمل ، قبل ان نبدأ التحرك. They would have not only saved her hands, but allowed her to do more lifting. سيكون له ليس فقط انقاذ يديها ، ولكنها أتاحت لها ان تفعل المزيد لرفعها.

There are probably a thousand other things that we did wrong but these are the ones I most feel today. ربما هناك امور اخرى الف اننا ظلموا ولكن هذه هي معظم انني اشعر اليوم. Now, it’s back to the hot tub! الآن ، انها العودة الى الحوض الساخنه! Oh yeah, we don’t have one. أوه نعم ، ليس لدينا احد. Where’s the Advil? وقد advil أين؟
